After a long process, ASA has now instituted mutual recognition of authorised seed processors and
authorised seed samplers for certified seed. This was at the request of ASF, and requires all
certification agencies to recognise processors and samplers who are authorised by any certification
agency to handle certified seed. The authorised processors and samplers will be listed on the ASA
website so the industry can easily determine which businesses and samplers are able to process and
sample certified seed.
While the system and process are in place, the listing on the ASA website will take a little time, as
this is a very busy time of the year, and seed processors and seed samplers have to decide with
which certification agency they will seek authorisation, and the certification agencies have to go
through the process of ensuring they meet the requirements of processing and sampling certified
seed, and then list them on the ASA website.
